LARGE FIRM EXPERIENCE
SMALL FIRM ATTENTION
FIRM LEADERSHIP
Connolly Consulting Engineers, PLLC has been providing full service mechanical and electrical engineering and energy services since 2002. We have remained a small firm because we enjoy all aspects of consulting engineering. We enjoy getting to know our clients, and exceptional quality and service is nonnegotiable. We will lead our firm’s involvement in your project, from introductions, through design and construction, and thereafter.
COMMUNICATION
We have a long history of creative design solutions and overcoming seemingly impossible renovation challenges. One of our guiding principles is to have no surprises in construction. Our approach to this goal is two sided. First, before the end of the design phase of your renovation project, we will know what is hidden above your ceiling. Second, we meet with you during the design phase to understand how users will utilize each room in the building. We are then able to offer experience based design recommendations, and clearly communicate the pros and cons of your choices to help you understand how the M/E/P systems will function in your building.
PROJECT QUALITY
We are aware of the environmental impact and energy efficiency of all our designs. Some of our team members are Certified Energy Managers and LEED AP BD+C accredited professionals, and we often provide economic analyses, energy audits, or whole building energy models to assist investors in making decisions. However, our approach to energy efficient M/E/P systems design is not cookie cutter. Not every project is appropriate to be designed energy efficient beyond the current energy code, Energy Star or LEED certifiable. We design the appropriate level of quality, energy efficiency, and durability into each project. What matters is ensuring the M/E/P systems are designed to match the client’s needs and desires.
CONSTRUCTION
All of our engineers are “hands-on engineers” – although we work full time as consultants, we love to perform “hands-on” construction work in many trades, to continually learn and see quality finished projects. Doing construction work with our own hands helps us create better construction documents, and it helps us honor and respect the skilled tradesmen on each project. Contractors tend to return this honor, and thereby we establish excellent working relationships. While keeping sight of our role on the project, we are reasonable to work with, and we know how to stay “on the same team” with contractors on your job site to deliver on time and in budget construction.
